Driving Biew to the Train

Although you keep your rising light and warmth
hidden behind dark clouds in front of
my cracked windshield and sad intermittent
wipers while I return home alone,
I will wait upon your change of heart
this morning and attend your higher self
to wilt the banks of melancholia and make
this day the wide pride of an old man’s hope,
again.
